The perfume brand Guess was born as a natural extension of the fashion empire created by the Marciano brothers in 1981. The brothers Georges, Maurice, Armand, and Paul Marciano, originally from the south of France, moved to Los Angeles, where they founded the Guess brand. The name came about casually, when they saw a McDonald's ad that said "Guess what's in our new Big Mac?".

In 1985, Guess began diversifying its offerings with licensed products, including watches and perfumes. Its first women's fragrance, "Original Guess for Women," was launched in the late 1980s in collaboration with Revlon. The brand continued expanding its perfume line, also launching men's fragrances in 2006. Since then, Guess has offered a variety of perfumes for both men and women, with sensual and sophisticated advertising campaigns.

In 2018, Guess signed a 15-year licensing agreement with Inter Parfums, Inc., aiming to develop and distribute its fragrances, focusing especially on a younger audience and seeking to maintain the brand's relevance in the global market. Today, Guess perfumes are an important part of the brand, offering a wide range of fragrances that complement its legacy in the world of fashion and lifestyle.
